Latest takes

Mike Evans
  • At wide receiver, the team added Mike Evans and brought back Deebo Samuel .

    Samwise· Aug 19
  • Mayfield returns fully healthy, and veteran wideout Mike Evans has departed for San Francisco, leaving Chris Godwin as Egbuka’s main competition for targets.

  • Evans is not being drafted at WR27 because he suddenly stopped winning routes. He is being discounted because he is 33, has changed teams, and is coming off the first injury-ravaged season of his career.

  • Now fully healthy without Mike Evans hoarding end zone targets, Egbuka could make his way into Round One next season.” – Michael Tomlin ( Fantasy Six Pack ) “There are so many appealing choices in this range, but I’ll go with Emeka Egbuka .

  • However, if he ends up playing 13+ games, fantasy managers will be ecstatic. Another reason I am willing to take the risk of injury with Evans is that when he plays, he should be a locked-in top-12 player on this offense each week.

    Ellis Johnson· Aug 11
  • With Ricky Pearsall now missing the season with his PCL injury, it is rookie De’Zhaun Stribling and Christian Kirk behind Mike Evans

  • Mike Evans is now in San Francisco, which is important because when Evans wasn’t on the field last season, Egbuka’s target share was 28%

  • Yet, Samuel could be Brock Purdy’s top wide receiver at some point this year given Mike Evans ‘ recent injury history

    Mike Fanelli· Aug 6
  • A fully healthy Mike Evans in this Kyle Shanahan system is a lock for 70+ receptions, 1,000+ yards ( obviously ), and 8+ TDs…that baseline would have been enough to finish as the overall WR11 in 0.5 PPR scoring in 2025, and is the exact reason The Path to a WR1 Season for Mike Evans is paved with gold.

    PaulMarnie· Jul 27
  • Big Mike joins an offense with arguably the best overall RB, TE, and head coach in the entire league, and although this sounds like a recipe for disaster for a veteran recovering from a season plagued by injury, I tend to look at his move west in a similar light to all those optimistic prospectors from the mid-1800s…becuase let me tell you, Mike Evans on this 49ers team is going to be fantasy gold .

    PaulMarnie· Jul 27
  • Mike Evans has a new home with the 49ers, and he looks like a wonderful value in fantasy drafts.

  • 49ers FB Kyle Juszczyk had high hopes for new WR Mike Evans , but he was still surprised by the veteran’s ability to completely dominate practice, especially during red-zone periods. “The expectations we had for Mike were already high … he’s a Hall of Famer … and he blew us all away,” Juszczyk said, via Vic Tafur of The Athletic . “He was unguardable in practice, especially in the red zone. And he fits in so well.”

    Nate Bouda· Jul 18
  • Evans is almost 33 years old with an accumulation of injuries over 12 years. We are dangerously close to the performance cliff here, so it is perilous to assume that he will just absorb most of the 168-target vacancy.

  • Watch this space with the arrival of Mike Evans in San Francisco. Evans has been an integral part of one of the most efficient offenses in this category during his time down in Tampa Bay, and it will be interesting to see if that advantage translates to the same extent in Kyle Shanahan's system.

    Joe Gibbs· Jul 3
  • The offense will also no longer have Mike Evans after he departed in free agency for the 49ers.

Emeka Egbuka
  • Wide Receivers Emeka Egbuka (WR – TB) I’m hardly alone in expressing my optimism for a breakout campaign from Emeka Egbuka.

  • Take Emeka Egbuka , for example. His hot start last season will prove difficult to replicate. He plays 3 top-5 defenses against fantasy wideouts in the first 3 weeks of the season.

    Joe Harris· Aug 18
  • If health holds, his profile projects closer to a WR1 finish than his WR22 price tag suggests.” – Jacob Piccolo ( TrueRGM ) Emeka Egbuka (WR – TB) “ Emeka Egbuka already showed us that he has the ability to produce in the most elite way.

  • Emeka Egbuka (WR – TB) offers real top-five receiver upside if his hot start from last season extends across a full year, positioned as his team’s clear top receiver under a new offensive coordinator as long as the starting quarterback stays healthy.

  • While fantasy players should be excited about Emeka Egbuka , don’t forget about McMillan. Unfortunately, the former Washington star only played in the final four contests last season because of injury, averaging 7.5 PPR fantasy points per game.

    Mike Fanelli· Aug 9
  • Emeka Egbuka ‘s rookie season was a rollercoaster, but the underlying usage points toward a major Year 2 breakout in Tampa Bay. The former Ohio State standout earned elite target volume for a rookie and looked like a future star early in the season before injuries and shifting usage slowed his momentum late in the year (top-10 WR from Weeks 1-11). With Mike Evans gone, Egbuka is positioned for a much larger role in Zac Robinson’s offense.

  • Emeka Egbuka (WR – TB) Going as the WR18, 41st overall, the projections actually rate Egbuka even higher than that price suggests, stepping into a departed veteran’s role. His first six games last year came without two more established teammates healthy, and after that, the entire offense played through injuries for the rest of the season, muddying a clear read on his true talent level.

  • Emeka Egbuka (WR – TB) Emeka Egbuka had a 23.5% target share last season, which led the Buccaneers

  • While fantasy players should be excited about Emeka Egbuka , don’t forget about McMillan

    Mike Fanelli· Aug 6
  • With Mike Evans gone, Egbuka is positioned for a much larger role in Zac Robinson’s offense. He is one of the more appealing second-year breakout WR candidates in fantasy football.

  • For WR2, the lines are Terry McLaurin and Emeka Egbuka.

  • Emeka Egbuka exploded onto the scene in the first half of the 2025 season. The rookie WR capitalized on the opportunity left by the injured Mike Evans and finished as the WR 20.

  • More importantly, he has been dominant on a very successful Ohio State offense while playing alongside two first-round picks, Emeka Egbuka and Carnell Tate .

  • With Evans now in San Francisco, Egbuka becomes the No. 1 receiver in Tampa Bay.

    Kyle Zeigler· Jul 23
