Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 28, 2026
This page explains what Fantasy Joes collects about you, which third-party tools run on the site, and how to get your data deleted. Short version: we collect what the product needs to work, we use a few standard analytics and ad-measurement tools, and we do not sell your personal data.
What We Collect
- Account info. If you create an account, we collect your email address and password. Passwords are hashed (we use Convex Auth) — we never see or store the plain text.
- Anonymous play. You can play without an account. Anonymous players are identified by a random device ID stored in your browser — no name, no email.
- Gameplay. Your ordered ranking choices, direct matchup picks, and rankings. That data is how your board gets built and scored.
- Sleeper username. Only if you use live draft sync. A Sleeper username is public information; we never ask for or store a Sleeper password.
- CSV imports. If you import a rankings CSV, we read the file to seed your board.
- Device, source, and support data. We may keep a device identifier, acquisition source, IP-derived region, timestamps, and messages you send to support when those records are needed to run, secure, or explain the service.
- Discord. If you play through or connect Discord, we keep the Discord user, server, attribution, gameplay, and claim records needed to attach that activity to Fantasy Joes.
Analytics and Ads
We use first-party analytics and three third-party measurement tools. Here is what each one does:
Fantasy Joes first-party analytics — records pages viewed, buttons clicked, product actions, session identifiers, and client errors in our own database. We do not record form contents, and we do not sell or share these records.
Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads — standard usage analytics and ad conversion measurement.
Microsoft Clarity
records session replays. That means how you scroll, tap, and click on our pages gets captured so we can watch back anonymized sessions and debug confusing UX. If that bothers you, it is the tool most worth blocking — see below.
Reddit and TikTok ad pixels — measure whether ads we run on those platforms actually brought you here.
You can block some or all of these with your browser's tracking protection or a content blocker. The site works fine without them, and we don't try to fight them.
Who Processes Your Data
We don't run our own servers. These providers process data on our behalf:
- Convex — our database and backend. Your account, rankings, and gameplay live here.
- Netlify — hosts the website.
- Resend — sends account and product email.
- Discord, Sleeper, and ESPN — provide connected community, draft, player, schedule, score, and status features when you use them.
- Google, Microsoft, Reddit, TikTok — the analytics and ad-measurement tools described above.
One thing that often confuses people: player data on this site — names, stats, projections — comes from Sleeper and ESPN. That is sports data we fetch about NFL players, not data about you.
Cookies and Local Storage
We store a small number of things in your browser:
- Your auth session, so you stay signed in.
- Your device ID, if you play anonymously.
- Random visitor and session IDs for first-party analytics.
- Preferences, like display settings.
We Don't Sell Personal Data
We do not sell your personal data. Not to data brokers, not to advertisers, not to anyone.
Deleting Your Data and Contacting Us
You can delete your account yourself: Profile → Account → Delete account. Deletion is blocked while an entry, transfer, payout hold, partner balance, or unfinished contest still needs to be resolved. Once allowed, it removes your login, email, username, public board, push subscriptions, and most profile links, then leaves a pseudonymized account row so contest, payment, fraud, tax, dispute, and audit records can remain connected for their required retention period. A wallet address and encrypted tax record may remain when recordkeeping requires them; those records are not anonymous merely because the public profile is gone. Or email nick@fantasyjoes.gg and we'll handle a verified request. The target is to complete deletion of non-required profile data within 30 days. Questions about this policy go to the same address — a real person reads it.
