Expert takes
“A walk-in Hall of Famer as soon as he’s eligible, Evans will go down as the greatest offensive player in the history of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He topped 1,000 yards in each of his first 11 seasons with the Bucs and scored 105 touchdowns over that splendid decade-plus.”
Pat Fitzmaurice· Sep 9, 2026“While it would be nice to see Evans practice more often as he attempts to integrate himself into Shanahan's offense, there isn't much else to be gained by him trying to push it at this point. Evans is a good bet to miss a few games in 2026, but the receiver corps is already so thin on proven playmakers that he may push for a 25% target share when he is on the field. He needs to be treated like a WR2 due to his injury risk, but he has massive WR1 upside.”
FFToday· Aug 25, 2026“Mayfield returns fully healthy, and veteran wideout Mike Evans has departed for San Francisco, leaving Chris Godwin as Egbuka’s main competition for targets.”
Evan Tarracciano· Aug 19, 2026

“Evans is not being drafted at WR27 because he suddenly stopped winning routes. He is being discounted because he is 33, has changed teams, and is coming off the first injury-ravaged season of his career.”
Javier Manzanera· Aug 14, 2026“However, if he ends up playing 13+ games, fantasy managers will be ecstatic. Another reason I am willing to take the risk of injury with Evans is that when he plays, he should be a locked-in top-12 player on this offense each week.”
Ellis Johnson· Aug 11, 2026“Mike Evans is now in San Francisco, which is important because when Evans wasn’t on the field last season, Egbuka’s target share was 28%”
Richard Janvrin· Aug 6, 2026“Mike Evans has a new home with the 49ers, and he looks like a wonderful value in fantasy drafts.”
FantasyPros Staff· Jul 21, 2026“Evans is almost 33 years old with an accumulation of injuries over 12 years. We are dangerously close to the performance cliff here, so it is perilous to assume that he will just absorb most of the 168-target vacancy.”
Vernon Meighan· Jul 8, 2026“Watch this space with the arrival of Mike Evans in San Francisco. Evans has been an integral part of one of the most efficient offenses in this category during his time down in Tampa Bay, and it will be interesting to see if that advantage translates to the same extent in Kyle Shanahan's system.”
Joe Gibbs· Jul 3, 2026“Investing in Evans can be risky, but we know he's got talent, is in a good situation, and is paired with a solid quarterback. This could be shaping up to be 2025 Davante Adams, which was a smash value in drafts.”
Jonathan Lange· Jun 15, 2026“Ted Hurst also has some potential as a big outside weapon and could replace some of Mike Evans' targets.”
Ryan McCrystal· Apr 26, 2026“Evans is obviously a clear WR1, and he still commanded a large target share when on the field last season. There was a slip in his efficiency, though.”
Sharp Football Staff· Apr 24, 2026“Mike Evans is set to play the first season of his 11-year career outside of Tampa Bay after signing a one-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers. He has the inside track to be the 49ers' WR1. The only concerns about Evans at his ADP are his age and health. Evans is entering his age-33 season, where production can rapidly decline. He has also missed 14 games over the last two campaigns.”
Edward DeLauter· Mar 19, 2026
“Tyler Warren has checked almost every top-five TE usage metric we want to see. The only things holding him back right now are efficiency and Daniel Jones . The Colts game was in London this week.”
Joshua Poniatowski· Oct 4, 2026“TE Tyler Warren @ WAS Warren has given you consistency so far this year, scoring at least 8.5 fantasy points in all three weeks. Mike thinks this could be the week we see his ceiling against a Washington defense that won’t offer much in the way of resistance. They are currently ranked 31st in fantasy points allowed to the TE position.”
Parker Hagen· Oct 1, 2026“None of those metrics are good, but we know the type of talent Warren has, so I’m not pressing any panic button after only three games when his quarterback has been playing horrible football. Warren has three red zone targets and zero deep targets. Warren should have a nice week against a Washington pass defense that has allowed the third-most yards per target and the most fantasy points per opportunity to tight ends.”

“Warren has been used near the line of scrimmage so far, averaging only 1.9 air yards per target. 36.4% of his targets have been at or behind the line of scrimmage, the third-highest rate among tight ends with double-digit targets. That said, he is playing a ton of snaps and getting regular targets.”
Rich Hribar· Sep 30, 2026“Tyler Warren played 94.4% of the snaps, ran 92.7% of the routes, and had a 27.8% target share. Laquon Treadwell filled in for Pierce, running clear-out routes. Downs, Allen, and Warren all had good days, scoring 12.7, 18.3, and 14.7 PPR points, respectively.”
Wyatt Bertolone· Sep 28, 2026“While the Colts signed Darius Slay ton as Pierce’s replacement in the offense, Josh Downs and Tyler Warren will likely benefit the most from Pierce’s absence. TE Quick Hitters Brock Bowers | TE, Las Vegas Raiders (QUESTIONABLE) – Bowers is officially questionable after getting in two limited practices to start the week and then not practicing Friday. The Raiders indicated that Bowers’ Friday absence was planned and not a setback.”
Edward DeLauter· Sep 26, 2026“Tyler Warren is being asked to pass block more in 2026 (11.9% versus 6.9% last year) and his aDOT is a paltry 1.4 yards.”
Kyle Borgognoni· Sep 21, 2026“Tyler Warren had a fantastic rookie season as the TE10 in fantasy points per game, but there was plenty of meat left on the bone that should have fantasy gamers excited going into 2026.”
FantasyPros Staff· Sep 4, 2026“Over his first 10 games of 2025, Warren averaged 5.0 catches, 61.7 receiving yards and 11.1 half-point PPR fantasy points per game, with four touchdowns. Over his last seven games, Warren averaged 3.7 catches, 28.6 receiving yards and 5.6 half-point PPR fantasy points per game, with one touchdown.”
FantasyPros Staff· Sep 3, 2026“Warren was excellent last year on a per-route basis. Among 59 qualifying tight ends, he was sixth in target share, ninth in receiving yards per game, 18th in yards per route run and first downs per route run, and sixth in first-read-read share (per Fantasy Points Data). His target share and first-read share should increase this season with Pittman Jr. gone, and his per-route productivity should also improve if Daniel Jones can stay healthy for the entire season and be at least a shadow of his healthy self.”
FantasyPros Staff· Aug 8, 2026“Obviously, Tyler Warren will see a great deal, and Alec Pierce just secured the bag, but Downs should not be forgotten”
Kyle Zeigler· Aug 6, 2026“While Daniel Jones appears healthy heading into 2026, I expect to see more of Warren taking snaps at quarterback, as he did at Penn State. Warren offers unique upside that has received little discussion this offseason.”
Jonathan Lange· Jul 9, 2026“The Colts offense took a big step forward in 2025, and they will need to rely even more on Tyler Warren to keep that momentum going. Warren had an outstanding rookie year after leading the Colts in targets last season. The departure of Michael Pittman (PIT) will lead to even more looks for Warren's second season.”
Jonathan Lange· Jul 9, 2026“Warren had a strong rookie season, catching 76 of 112 targets for 817 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also added a rushing touchdown. Warren played 84% of the snaps as a rookie, running a route on 83.6% of the team's dropbacks.”
Rich Hribar· Jul 8, 2026“In the games that Tyler Warren played with Daniel Jones, he averaged 12.36 PPR points and 53.7 yards. In the four that he played in without Jones, his numbers dropped to 6.95 points and 29.5 yards.”
