Marvin Harrison
  • Dramatically increased competition for targets seriously caps any comeback effort for Harrison, and all reports out of camp make it sound like he is struggling with confidence issues. A WR31 ranking is a steep price to pay with so much uncertainty swirling around.

  • The easy knock on Wilson is that he blew up in games Marvin Harrison Jr.

  • Harrison is still just 24 and Arizona is going to have to throw the ball a lot. Jacoby Brissett is not capable of leading them to the playoffs, but he is capable of putting up solid fantasy numbers.

  • Round 10: Marvin Harrison Jr. (WR – ARI) I know Marvin Harrison Jr. ‘s stock is low after last season and some viral videos of drops during training camp, but the value here couldn’t be passed up.

  • The Cardinals are also looking to get Marvin Harrison Jr.

  • 08) – Marvin Harrison (WR, ARI) At the start of the back end of the draft, only six teams in this mock have both of their QBs.

    Kurt Mullen· Jul 29
  • Marvin Harrison Jr. in the 7-game sample before his appendectomy, heel injury and without the early-exit concussion game, was on pace for a 1,117-yard season.

  • Overvalued: Marvin Harrison Jr., Wide Receiver (WR31, Pick 66 Overall) Marvin Harrison Jr. has had one 100-yard game since week two of his rookie season, when he had the craziest first ten minutes of a game you’ll ever see (130 yards, two touchdowns), and none of them came last season. Here’s the simple fact of the matter, too: he wasn’t good last year.

    Jeff Krisko· Jul 22
  • Marvin Harrison Jr. was the counter-pick, a name whose price has fallen far enough after a disappointing rookie season that the risk is worth taking.

  • Marvin Harrison Jr. has had a rough start to his NFL career, and being on the Cardinals isn't helping. Last season, with Jacoby Brissett as his signal-caller, he was third on the team in target share behind Trey McBride and Michael Wilson, catching 21 of the 42 passes thrown by Brissett for 302 yards and two touchdowns.

  • Marvin Harrison Jr. was disappointing compared to the cost, but didn't have a bad season by any means.

  • Harrison is not the player we had hoped for when he was drafted. However, there is plenty of room for him to be a steady WR2 with WR1 potential if he cleans up his game.

    Ellis Johnson· Jun 29
  • In his first two seasons, Harrison has yet to record more than 52 yards per game. That said, his 11.6% touchdown rate is impressive.

    Ellis Johnson· Jun 29
  • Gamers drafting in this manner will be happy to buy the dip on a player like Marvin Harrison Jr., betting that the "bust" title is being slapped on the former top prospect a bit too soon.

    Kyle Lesti· Jun 22
  • Pass on Marvin Harrison Jr. as a frontline cornerstone. Mainstream scouting got this one wrong; his top-end athleticism simply has not translated to Sunday success. With Trey McBride commanding the middle of the field, Michael Wilson demanding targets on the outside, and elite rookie Jeremiyah Love eating up touches in the backfield, Harrison's slice of the pie is shrinking by the day.

Sam LaPorta
  • This stretch of games from Weeks 11-18 also coincided with Sam LaPorta ‘s absence, which increased Gibbs’ passing game usage.

  • Perhaps the ceiling gets capped slightly if Jameson Williams trends upwards and Sam LaPorta is healthier, but the Lions were bad last year, and the most important thing is that they might have a competent play-caller once again in Drew Petzing, who said they want to lean into what Jared Goff does best by using play action heavily.

    Tom Strachan· Aug 11
  • Sam LaPorta – 2.14 Browns QBs through 5 training camp practices, per ESPN Cleveland:

  • Most playoff receiving yards ever by a rookie TE (193), passing Sam LaPorta

  • Round 9: Sam LaPorta (TE – DET) Since the FLEX spot allows for tight ends, I made a dart-throw pick on Sam LaPorta.

  • Sam LaPorta has dealt with injuries in the last two seasons, to the point where I don’t want to target him this season. His rookie year breakout feels like ages ago.

  • Sam LaPorta (TE – DET) LaPorta is currently the TE8, 84th overall, a range one analyst would easily take him from over two tight ends ranked just ahead of him. He’s been fully cleared from a herniated disc heading into camp and isn’t expected to miss any time, news that should push his price up over the coming weeks.

  • From Weeks 1-10, including a Week 8 bye week, LaPorta was the TE8 in PPR leagues. He averaged 11.9 fantasy points per game, catching 40 passes for 489 yards and three touchdowns before the injury. In that span, he had an 18.6% target share, which was second on the team behind wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown (31.2%).

  • Sam LaPorta was the counter-pick, a name being drafted at a discount after a frustrating, injury-interrupted season.

  • This brings us to TE Sam LaPorta . Historically, he had been one of those middle-round TEs that Jason was avoiding like the plague. But now that he has been slipping to rounds 9-10, he’s an excellent pick when taking opportunity/cost into consideration.

    Maggie Thraen· Jul 19
  • Harold Fannin sits at TE6, and Kyle Pitts and Sam LaPorta are essentially tied for TE7 and TE8, with Pitts holding just a slight edge on the chart. Kyle Pitts (TE – ATL) vs. Sam LaPorta (TE – DET) In a live dynasty startup draft one of our analysts is currently participating in, Pitts came off the board about eight picks before their own selection, leading them to take LaPorta in the same round instead.

  • LaPorta dominated from the outside as one of the best receiving tight ends in the league, and while he's fallen back to earth a bit from the highs of his rookie campaign, he's still very good.

    Ethan Woodie· Jul 11
  • LaPorta only appeared in nine games last season due to a herniated disc. Before his injury, LaPorta had received 18.6% of Detroit's targets (TE9) and averaged 2.0 yards per route run (TE6).

    Rich Hribar· Jul 8
  • Reportedly, LaPorta is trending in the right direction after suffering a season-ending back injury last year. The former Iowa star was playing well before getting hurt, averaging 7.4 non-PPR fantasy points per game. Furthermore, he scored 11.5 or more fantasy points in three of his final five games last season.

    Mike Fanelli· Jun 22
  • LaPorta landed on the opposite end of the spectrum. While still ranked inside Tier 2, concerns about target competition and draft cost pushed him down the board. For managers who miss out on the top tier, the recommendation was often to bypass LaPorta's price tag and continue waiting for value later.
