Expert takes

Puka Nacua
  • Puka Nacua (+550) is the current favorite to lead the league in receiving yards for the 2026 NFL Season.

    Curtis Hirsch· Sep 2, 2026
  • Puka Nacua (WR – LAR) | Groin Puka Nacua’s injury is less concerning than Ashton Jeanty’s or Breece Hall’s, but his fantasy value makes it worth monitoring.

    Ryan Kirksey· Aug 29, 2026
  • Puka Nacua (WR – LAR) Averages 26 PPR Points Per Game The prediction: Nacua could become the first wide receiver since 2013 to average 26 PPR points per game across a full season. In his genuinely healthy games last year, excluding a stretch lost to an ankle injury, he already averaged nearly 25 points per game, and a simple touchdown redistribution, flipping his own total with a teammate’s, would have been enough to push him over that 26-point threshold. Only two wide receiver seasons since 2013 have even topped 25 points per game.

  • Nacua is coming off a career-high 10 receiving touchdowns, which, until 2025, had been the only area of his game that lacked, having scored nine in the previous two seasons combined. Perhaps with an improved defense, the Rams won’t be quite as pass-heavy this year, but Sean McVay has nearly always been aggressive.

    Tom Strachan· Aug 15, 2026
  • Left practice on Tuesday with groin soreness Rams WR Puka Nacua , who left practice while walking with a trainer, is dealing with minor soreness in his groin, I'm told.

    FFToday· Aug 11, 2026
  • Adam Schefter reports that Rams WR Puka Nacua , who is entering the final year of his rookie deal, has hired Win Sports Group to represent him in contract negotiations.

    Wyatt Grindley· Aug 9, 2026
  • Perhaps with an improving defense the Rams don’t go quite as pass-heavy this year, but Sean McVay has nearly always been aggressive and while Matthew Stafford is healthy, Nacua deserves to be a top pick.

    Tom Strachan· Aug 9, 2026
  • Having Davante Adams and Puka Nacua has elevated his fantasy value, and the Rams are built to make one more run with Stafford under center.

    Lawrence Iacona· Aug 5, 2026
  • Round 1: Puka Nacua (WR – LAR) The counter-pick was Puka Nacua , ranked as the top overall wide receiver ahead of the field’s other top options. Only two players outscored him in fantasy points per game last year, and neither was one of the running backs typically drafted with the first or second overall pick.

    FantasyPros Staff· Jul 20, 2026
  • Nacua is coming off another incredible season, leading the league in receptions (129) for 1,715 yards (2nd) and 10 touchdowns (tied for 6th). He has averaged 7.1 receptions (2nd) and 95.3 yards per game (1st) since entering the league.

    Rich Hribar· Jul 10, 2026
  • Puka Nacua is entering the final year of his rookie contract. Sarah Barshop of ESPN thinks Nacua is at the top of Los Angeles' list of extension candidates, but it remains to be seen if they will pursue a new contract or focus on the season ahead. Although Barshop could see the Rams giving Nacua a contract that makes him the league's highest-paid receiver, Los Angeles doesn't appear to be in a hurry at this point.

    Tony Camino· Jul 9, 2026
  • Affording Turner and another member of the '23 class such as wideout Puka Nacua will be challenging given the short-term financial commitments already on the books.

    Adam La Rose· Jul 8, 2026
  • Former Lions WR Calvin Johnson believes that Rams WR Puka Nacua is the greatest threat to his receiving record, saying "If he stays healthy, that dude's a killer out there." Johnson noted that Nacua still has Matthew Stafford, so he thinks he's got a shot at breaking the record.

    Wyatt Grindley· Jul 7, 2026
  • Landing the league leader in catches and receiving yards at pick 1.05 is never a bad thing. With Matthew Stafford under center, Puka Nacua is set up for another monster year.

    Kurt Blakeway· Jul 7, 2026
  • Nacua led the league in receptions (129) and receiving yards per game (107.7) in 2025. He averaged an outrageous 3.57 yards per route run last season and has averaged 3.16 YPRR for his career.

    Pat Fitzmaurice· Jul 6, 2026
Justin Jefferson
  • Jefferson looked especially miserable last year while enduring the worst season of his career. With J.J. McCarthy completely overwhelmed as an NFL quarterback, Jefferson finished with 84 catches, 1,048 yards, and two touchdowns.

    Pat Fitzmaurice· Sep 9, 2026
  • Justin Jefferson (WR – MIN) | ADP: 11.8 (WR6) While he has been a fantasy superstar since entering the NFL, Justin Jefferson is coming off a massively disappointing season.

    Mike Fanelli· Aug 29, 2026
  • Justin Jefferson (WR – MIN) Finishes Outside the Top 20 Wide Receivers The prediction: Jefferson, currently going as a top-six receiver, finishes this season outside the top 20 at his position. This is partly a skepticism play on his new starting quarterback’s fit in this specific offense, particularly real questions about accessing the middle of the field effectively. Even last year, on a per-route basis, Jefferson already graded as only a fringe top-15 to top-17 receiver in efficiency metrics, not a true elite option, once poor quarterback play is set aside.

  • Jefferson has been a fantasy superstar since he entered the NFL. Unfortunately, the veteran is coming off a massively disappointing season, finishing last year as the WR21, averaging 11.9 PPR fantasy points per game despite finishing seventh in the league with 141 targets.

    Mike Fanelli· Aug 15, 2026
  • With a better quarterback, Justin Jefferson is a top-five pick, but with J.J. McCarthy ‘s past poor play and the uncertainty of Kyler Murray , we get a discount on one of the best wide receivers in the league.

    Kurt Blakeway· Aug 14, 2026
  • Last year, Jefferson was still sixth in target share (28.5%) and seventh in first-read share (35.1%), so we should all expect the Minnesota passing attack to run through their alpha wide receiver again in 2026.

    FantasyPros Staff· Aug 14, 2026
  • Last year, Justin Jefferson had a horrible runout as the WR28 in fantasy points per game (WR14 in expected fantasy points per game). Obviously, a ton of his season was impacted by the level of quarterback play, but Jefferson also slid to 36th in separation score and 38th in route win rate (among 109 qualifying receivers, per Fantasy Points Data).

    FantasyPros Staff· Aug 14, 2026
  • Justin Jefferson is the fifth-best wide receiver in the Madden universe, apparently

    The FF Newsletter· Aug 6, 2026
  • This wasn’t Jefferson’s fault, however. Among wide receivers with 50+ targets, Jefferson ranked 58th in catchable target rate (71%). J.J. McCarthy stunk, and all indications are that Kyler Murray is the clear favorite to be the starter in 2026, and possibly beyond.

    Tom Strachan· Jul 27, 2026
  • Jefferson should immediately become Murray’s go-to receiver, making an overall WR1 finish well within reach.

    Kyle Zeigler· Jul 23, 2026
  • The Ballers agree that if Kyler takes the leading QB role, they are confident that Jefferson will be back as a top-tier WR. However, they see him more as a back-end WR1.

    Maggie Thraen· Jul 19, 2026
  • Justin Jefferson had fewer receiving yards in 2025 (1,048) than he did in 2023, when he only played 10 games (1,074). Jefferson also had a career-low 12.5 yards per reception and a career-low two receiving touchdowns.

    Tom Strachan· Jul 18, 2026
  • Justin Jefferson was one of the biggest fantasy disappointments in 2025. Still, his usage last season suggests he will be right back in the WR1 conversation if Minnesota gets better quarterback play this season. Jefferson was the WR8 in expected fantasy points last year, but he scored 31.3 fewer points than expected.

    Sharp Football Staff· Jun 25, 2026
  • Jefferson's price tag is a bit steep, and he has more bust potential than anyone else in the first round, though his upside is worth mixing into best ball portfolios.

    Josh Shepardson· Jun 23, 2026
