Kenneth Walker
  • Kenneth Walker III (RB – KC) Currently RB9 in dynasty ECR, one analyst believes Walker is at his absolute peak value right now given the wave of hype around his move to a new, higher-profile situation, valuing him personally much lower. The concern is a real track record of not handling a massive workload, with his new team’s added backfield depth suggesting the coaching staff may share that concern.

  • The opportunity ahead of Walker in the Chiefs offense could push him into the elite fantasy production tier, as Kansas City has lacked a top-end RB in Andy Reid’s offense for some time. If Walker can stay on the field, he should have every chance to be a great value in the second round of drafts.

  • The Chiefs did add Kenneth Walker III , which will impact the passing attack, and Patrick Mahomes is coming off a torn ACL, but if Rice is on the field, he’ll have a target share of at least 25% and has top-five wide receiver upside

  • They signed Kenneth Walker III in the offseason, and he should see more work in the passing game.

  • Round 9: Jadarian Price (RB – SEA) With Kenneth Walker III leaving for the Kansas City Chiefs, the Seahawks drafted Jadarian Price in the first round.

  • com/TZzPI8lssd — B/R Gridiron (@brgridiron) July 27, 2026 Breakout Candidates Kenneth Walker should bring a new look of explosiveness into the Kansas City Chiefs ’ offense.

  • QB Health This season, the upside cases for Jonathan Taylor and Kenneth Walker III largely depend on the health and production of their QBs, who are coming off significant lower-body injuries.

  • You want these players over running backs like Jonathan Taylor , James Cook , Saquon Barkley and Kenneth Walker III , who rely more heavily on yardage and traditional rushing volume.

  • With his salivating mix of talent and efficiency, Walker should be an explosive RB1 in 2026.

  • We can’t expect that level of rushing production to continue into 2026. Not only will Mahomes’ mobility potentially be limited in his return from injury, but the addition of Kenneth Walker III should mean that the Chiefs’ run game is less disastrous, taking work off the franchise quarterback’s plate. With reduced rushing upside, Mahomes will need to ratchet up the passing production to be a top-five fantasy option.

    Ted Chmyz· Jul 22
  • Kenneth Walker III (KC) Kenneth Walker arrives in Kansas City as the Chiefs’ new lead back.

  • Despite splitting the workload with Zach Charbonnet for most of his career, he has averaged 13.4 PPR fantasy points per game, totaling 13.3 or more in all but one season. Don't be surprised if Walker takes advantage of a light box and dominates as the featured guy in a dangerous Kansas City offense.

    Mike Fanelli· Jul 8
  • Despite spending most of the time splitting the workload with Zach Charbonnet in Seattle, Walker has finished as a top-21 running back in non-PPR scoring every year of his career except the 2024 season, where he missed six games because of injury. Thankfully, he will finally get the chance to be a featured running back after the Chiefs invested significant money in him this offseason.

    Mike Fanelli· Jun 22
  • Walker finished with 1,027 rushing yards (his highest total since his rookie season in 2022), and started all 17 games for the first time in his career. Even in the midst of fending off Zach Charbonnet for touches, Walker helped carry Seattle to a playoff run, eventually taking over as the bell-cow back once Charbonnet was injured in the playoffs.

Jahmyr Gibbs
  • Jahmyr Gibbs (WR – DET) Another young running back who has seen things clear out behind him is Jahmyr Gibbs, who saw David Montgomery move on, and only Isiah Pacheco was brought in.

    Tom Strachan· Aug 9
  • Jahmyr Gibbs averaged 21.7 PPG last year on 17.8 xFP, despite the presence of David Montgomery and his 9.3 xFP. That’s a remarkably impressive result, given it wasn’t a particularly impressive year for the Lions or for Gibbs as a rusher. I view the downgrade from David Montgomery — a serviceable player who was also a cultural leader — to Isiah Pacheco as steep, and far wider than the drop off from Tyler Allgeier to Brian Robinson .

  • Andy’s pick at the 1.01 is fairly straightforward with Jahmyr Gibbs . Gibbs presents tremendous upside in an offense that fantasy managers have grown to trust with one of the best schedules in the league.

  • The RB1 Debate The Bijan Robinson vs Jahmyr Gibbs debate has been discussed multiple times on recent shows, but the consensus is that both RBs are clearly above the rest of the field.

  • Top-12 Drafted RBs in 2025 RB 2025 ADP 2024 Finish 2025 Games Played Bijan Robinson RB1 RB3 17 Saquon Barkley RB2 RB13 16 Jahmyr Gibbs RB3 RB4 17 Christian McCaffrey RB4 RB1 17 Derrick Henry RB5 RB7 17 Ashton Jeanty RB6 RB12 17 Josh Jacobs RB7 RB15 15 De’Von Achane RB8 RB6 16 Jonathan Taylor RB9 RB2 17 Bucky Irving RB10 RB33 10 Chase Brown RB11 RB8 17 Kyren Williams RB12 RB9 17 2025 RB Health Last season, nine out of 12 top RBs drafted finished as an RB1, resulting in a mostly chalky season at the top for RBs.

  • In a standard league, getting a running back such as Jahmyr Gibbs, who will handle well over 200 carries and catch the ball a bunch, was a no-brainer after Bijan Robinson went off the board.

  • Overvalued: Nobody? The Detroit Lions are an interesting case, because everyone is pretty much where they should be: Jahmyr Gibbs is a top-two pick, Amon-Ra St. Brown is a fringe first-rounder, Jameson Williams is a WR2, and Sam LaPorta is a backend TE1 (and Jared Goff goes too late).

    Jeff Krisko· Jul 27
  • Players such as Christian McCaffrey , Jahmyr Gibbs , Bijan Robinson and De’Von Achane all cleared 60 receptions last season. They produce in every phase of the game.

  • Nor is giving up Jahmyr Gibbs if it will leave you without a viable RB2.

    Ted Chmyz· Jul 26
  • Having said that, the days of Gibbs being part of a true running back committee are expected to be over.

    Steve Krebs· Jul 23
  • The No. 1 overall player based on PlayerProfiler’s Lifetime Value Metric is Jahmyr Gibbs with a value of 392.9. In case you were wondering, Bijan Robinson is second with 373.30.

  • The big news of the Lions offseason was in the RB room. RB David Montgomery was traded to the Houston Texans, and the Lions acquired Isiah Pacheco from the Kansas City Chiefs . Jahmyr Gibbs remains.

    Maggie Thraen· Jul 19
  • Much of that is due to exciting new players like Gibbs, who made his third straight Pro Bowl in 2025 and asserted his grip on the Detroit backfield. He flirted with 2,000 yards from scrimmage for the second straight season and scored 18 total touchdowns. Gibbs is both a talented runner and receiver, and thanks to his game-breaking speed he is a legitimate threat to score a touchdown every time he touches the football.

    Logan Ulrich· Jul 19
