Latest takes

J.K. Dobbins
  • RJ Harvey and J.K. Dobbins were a complementary backfield in 2025.

  • There were also reports that the team tried to sign J.K. Dobbins before he returned to the Broncos.

    Ellis Johnson· Aug 19
  • Coleman makes sense as an RB4 option to begin the season and could move into RB2 territory later in the season if J.K. Dobbins misses time again.

  • Of all the Broncos running backs, I prefer J.K. Dobbins

  • I’m well aware of the Dobbins reputation at this point: he hasn’t played a full season in his career, and missed at least four games in each of the last five seasons. But, at some point, he is going to play a full seventeen games. And when he does, it will be incredible. Last season, he performed admirably in Sean Payton’s system, posting 15 carries for 77 yards per game (5.0 yards per attempt) while kicking in a catch per game, on just over 50% of snaps.

    Jeff Krisko· Jul 26
  • Before he was forced to the sidelines with an injury, Dobbins averaged 16 touches and 81 yards per game, as well as five yards per attempt, subverting what many thought would be an RJ Harvey takeover year.

    Ryan Kirksey· Jul 24
  • Jonah Coleman will serve as the backup to J.K. Dobbins and step in as Denver's early-down ball carrier when Dobbins inevitably misses some time due to injury.

  • The team obviously values Dobbins, who has been excellent for the Broncos when on the field. Back in March, they extended him for two more years, guaranteeing him $8 million and including incentives that could push the contract's maximum value to $20 million.

    Kyle Lesti· Jun 18
  • Dobbins, when healthy, is one of the better backs in the league, but unfortunately, injuries continue to sideline ol' J.K. He missed seven games last season, four the year before that, and the entirety of both the 2023 and 2021 seasons.

  • Dobbins is coming back on a two-year $20 million contract.

  • Dobbins, though, might be the NFL's most injury-prone active player. The former Ravens second-round pick has missed a staggering 54 regular-season games in six seasons.

    Sam Robinson· Jul 3
  • "You can't find many people with higher average [per carry] then me," Dobbins said of his injury history. "This is going to be the best year, all 17 [games]. I've had three major injuries, one took me two years to recover from and was one not a lot of people come back from."

  • Despite selecting running backs on the second day of the past two drafts, the Broncos and HC Sean Payton opted to bring back injury-prone RB J.K. Dobbins, who continues to dominate when healthy. "Dobbins was a priority, ahead of all others," Payton said.

  • Despite re-signing J.K. Dobbins and restricted free agent Jaleel McLaughlin and having spent a second-round pick on RJ Harvey last year, the Broncos are doing research on the draft's offerings at the position.

Jonathon Brooks
  • Jonathon Brooks (up 5 spots to No. 83). Our series-long bellwether just keeps climbing, now up into RB31 territory in the overall top 85.

  • Jonathon Brooks (RB – CAR) Going as the RB29, around the 79th overall pick, Brooks carries real coaching-staff history in his favor: the same offensive system has produced a fantasy-relevant lead running back in three of the last three seasons across two different teams, each smashing their own draft cost.

  • Jonathon Brooks was trending towards seeing a spike in ECR even before Chuba Hubbard was sidelined with a hamstring injury. Brooks now has a clear path to seizing the starting/lead role for good, and his ECR climb has reflected that.

  • It was surprising that Jonathon Brooks fell to me here. I was happy to add him, especially with Chuba Hubbard coming down with a hamstring injury.

    Kurt Blakeway· Aug 23
  • Jonathon Brooks (RB35) is the late-round league-winner if you’re betting on talent over situation. Yes, two ACL tears in the same knee make availability the primary risk factor, but the path to volume is clear.

  • Round 9: Jonathon Brooks (RB – CAR) Fellow Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard was inefficient last season, and this is opening up a potential lead-back role for Jonathon Brooks so long as he can stay healthy after tearing his ACL twice over the last few years.

  • Jonathon Brooks (RB – CAR) Going around the RB29, roughly the 78th overall pick, Brooks has been one of the fastest-rising players in fantasy over the past week given fresh news that the presumed starter ahead of him is expected to miss real time with an injury.

  • Chuba Hubbard (RB – CAR) & Jonathon Brooks (RB – CAR) The path here begins with one of these two winning the job.

    Ellis Johnson· Aug 19
  • Let’s not forget that Jonathon Brooks was a second-round pick just two years ago. Injuries have completely derailed the start of his NFL career, but the talent and explosiveness that made him such a highly regarded prospect are still there.

    Kurt Blakeway· Aug 16
  • Jonathon Brooks | RB, Carolina Panthers It’s already starting; the steam is building behind Jonathon Brooks .

    Kyle Lesti· Aug 11
  • Jonathon Brooks looks healthy and explosive in camp, which is why he’s moving up in ADP. Fantasy managers, including myself, prefer Brooks over Chuba Hubbard due to the untapped upside.

  • Jonathon Brooks (RB – CAR) is finally fully healthy entering his third season after barely playing since being drafted. Camp reports describe him as fully cleared for a significant role, particularly as a receiver, a real strength of his and a weakness of the incumbent starter, who already lost his job to a journeyman back last year and posted a genuinely unique level of poor explosive-play production.

  • After missing the entirety of the 2025 season rehabbing, Brooks is now deemed to be fully healthy and is competing for the starting role in the backfield opposite Chuba Hubbard . That would be the same Hubbard that already lost his starting role last year to Rico Dowdle , after his YPC cratered from the year prior.

  • Pick 8.03 – Jonathon Brooks (RB – CAR) Despite having a career year in 2025 and replacing Chuba Hubbard as the lead running back, the Panthers let Rico Dowdle walk in free agency this offseason.
